Human systems strategist · Curiously human
In plain terms: I help organizations navigate change, rebuild trust, and align strategy with the people responsible for delivering it.
For nearly 30 years I've closed the gap between what we intend and what actually happens — not because that gap is a failure, but because it's a human systems problem, and human systems problems have human systems solutions.
I've done this work where it's hardest — the systems that fail Black women first and serve them last — and the rigor, trust, and alignment that demands is exactly what I bring to every organization I serve.
The work I do
It's all the same work — making meaning so people and systems align with themselves and the people they serve. Here's how that shows up.
When change stalls, trust erodes, or strategy keeps slipping in execution, I help you find the system gap behind it and rebuild so good intentions actually produce outcomes. Executive advisory, transformation, and communications.
Explore ALIGN →A sanctuary — not self-care lite — for Black women coming home to themselves. Healing-centered programming, sisterhood, and the deep rest and reclamation we're so rarely given room for.
Come home to yourself →Nearly 30 years leading organizational transformation, executive advisory, public affairs, and communications — APR, CSM, and INHC credentialed, and currently on the leadership team of a $96.7M operation serving nearly 1M residents. Trusted by Mayo Clinic, Coca-Cola, and the U.S. Department of Education. Here's the track record and CV.

Good intentions don't automatically produce positive outcomes. Positive outcomes happen by design.
My work sits at the intersection of organizational strategy, human behavior, communications, and systems thinking. I don't just deliver reports — I become a thought partner to leaders navigating the questions that don't fit neatly into a scope of work.
I've led engagement initiatives reaching thousands of residents, helped organizations rebuild trust, and built the systems and communications infrastructure that let leaders finally move from intention to impact. What I bring isn't only expertise — it's judgment, pattern recognition, and the ability to see what's happening beneath the surface.
SoulMed came from my own reckoning. For years I lived the cycle so many Black women know by heart — high-achieving, emotionally available, spiritually starving — leading social-justice campaigns while quietly unraveling inside. Burnout wasn't a buzzword for me. It was a wake-up call.
That unraveling became my doorway. I rebuilt myself softness first, structure second, purpose on top — and realized something that changed everything: Black women aren't overwhelmed because we're weak. We're overwhelmed because we've been carrying generations of what the world refuses to hold.
Now I do this work at every scale — the person, the system, the city. Creator of the Get Curious™ framework and the unBEAcoming philosophy, co-author of affirmation books on nightstands across the country, and facilitator of workshops women call life-saving.

Black women & the Black community · Charlotte
This is my beat — part lived experience, part cultural anthropology. I'm building a newsroom and tip line: the stories, the data, the events, and the people and organizations shaping Black women's lives and Black communities in CLT, with more cities to come. It's built to syndicate, too — a beat other newsrooms and partners can run with.
My current thesis, and the pitch I'm making to newsrooms: misalignment isn't just an organizational problem — it has a measurable cost on the health of Black women and the communities around them. When systems fall out of alignment with the people they serve, we pay for it in our bodies.
